Blackjack odds table
The following table assumes United States rules (where only the player's original bets are lost if it turns out the dealer has blackjack), and it assumes the player can double down on any two cards. Finally, this table assumes that if surrender is allowed, it is always "late surrender" - meaning the player cannot surrender until the dealer has checked for a dealer blackjack (and discovered that he does not have it). The house advantages indicated are still approximate, because there are other variations of the rules, such as re-splitting aces or the maximum number of times a hand can be re-split. Remember, these odds are only correct for traditional blackjack rules. Some casinos offer single-deck blackjack that only pays 6 to 5 for a blackjack, or they offer a game where the dealer exposes both of his initial two cards but the payoffs are all different. Those less popular variations are not represented here, and they generally have terrible odds for the player!
